Hi Marck, S At now, TB insist that you move a message in the course of filtering. S If you want it to remain, the "source" and "destination" folders must S be the same. MDP And, to elaborate further, "destination" *must* be specified. So, an MDP ad-hoc manual filter tied to a hot-key to simply colour a message is MDP not an option because the message has to move *somewhere* as specified MDP in the filter's "Move messages to folder" setting.` As a matter of fact, if the source and destination folders are the same, a message won't be moved if you apply a filter using hot-key. Not so obvious as it should (we will try to make it better), but it works :-) The exception is when the filter conditions should apply - then the message should be moved to the destination folder... -- Sincerely, Stefan ...Daddy, why doesn't this magnet pick up this floppy disk? -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Hi Nick, Friday, July 14, 2000, 2:16:54 PM, you wrote: View/Display/Only Unread Messages? Does that not accomplish what the original poster wanted? Yes...but you won't hold that setting after you close the program. I would ideally like it to hold this setting from one session to the next. As it is, if I want this I have to go in and set it each time I open the program (and I do this at least twice a day as I use a notebook computer that I use at both work and home). -- Best regards, Katsmeow mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! 1.45 Beta/7 under Windows 98 4.10 Build 1998 -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Hi Ming-Li, Saturday, July 15, 2000, 9:26:01 AM, you wrote: Just in case you don't know, you may hold down the Alt key and click on the status icon of any unread mail (the yellow envelope icon), which is the equivalent of View/Display/Only Unread Mail, but a tad simpler. The same technique applies to other part of the message list. E.g., click on a person's name in the "From" column while holding down the Alt key and TB would show only messages from the same sender. I did *not* know this and I do like this feature. Thanks. Ummm...just once thing. What do you do to restore being shown all the messages? -- Best regards, Katsmeow mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! 1.45 Beta/7 under Windows 98 4.10 Build 1998 -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Hi Marck, Thursday, July 13, 2000, 3:49:43 PM, you wrote: K 2. If I want only unread messages displayed, do I have to manually K set that each time the program opens by going to View and then K Display or can I set a default for only unread messages to show? MDP This is a new Universe. The Bat has the ticker. The ticker contains MDP all unread messages (from all folders that may be selected to MDP contribute their new mail content to the ticker - see folder options). MDP When you open new mail from the ticker, you are presented with a MDP single "virtual" folder containing *only* the new mail. I do think the Ticker is a cool feature. However, that said, I still would like to able to set The Bat! when looking at folders to only show unread messages (or whatever). Right now, I filter incoming messages to a separate inbox for each mailing list I am on. Then if I want to save mail from the list I put that in a separate folder. I would like to be able to get away from these dual folders and just have one folder for each list but to be able to look only at unread mail. I like the ticker but I get several hundred new messages a day and many of them I do not want to read and wish to delete unread. It is easier to do this through the individual folder.
