Well, she called again today: same thing, Maintenance Centre popped
up, no choice but to await it's result: *all* mail back to Feb. 11
lost... That's 8 months!!
She can't recall any problem with either TB or the laptop shutting
down with errors.
I hope the daily scheduled script for backups has worked...

Let us know, please if that helps .. though I doubt it
will help me, as there are no attachments involved in the
misbehaving folders I have.

A new twist: when I started a new message yesterday in the
account which had been working perfectly, it came up with
the correct sig file, then when I put a recipient addy in
the 'to' field, it suddenly couldn't find the old files
that have been plaguing the other accounts!

It's a gremlin :-(
