Well ZA is as good at it gets if you don't want to pay and you dont want any hastle with setting firewall rules. I used to use ZA but there was a period of time when there were problems with Windows 2000 and then with XP. I also wanted to see and control my rules in more detail. Because of that I switched to Tiny Personal Firewall which is still free but development of this has now been passed on to Kerio. The personal firewall from Agnitum (www.agnitum.com) is probably the best and most secure one available at present and one of very few that is able to deal with "leak" tests but the free version is fairly limited. Kerio Personal Firewall remains the best for me as it gives me very good control, works as a service under NT/2k/xp and is free. However, when my son grows up enough to need Internet access I will probably pay for the Agnitum one. Sorry if this is getting somewhat off topic.
