I'm late in my thread. But I only just noticed something. From some
impressions and Roelof's comment, it seemed like TB mustn't have
anything to do with it. Not running my own MTA.

But then again, quite randomly, I stumbled on a section in Account
Properties/ Templates/ New Message, which has a a few tick marks, for
Receipt Request, and Reading Confirmation. One was ticked.

Would that sound to be the prime reason? Or can such headers appear
spontaneously?

This section could probably be better documented. What I mean is, if
you enter Help Index, and follow 'Confirm Receipt' there isn't any
mention of this section. It's description is a little vague on
activation, but explanatory. It refers solely to some Pop-up, or
Options menu. But, I can't follow what it refers to for Pop-up.

About searching up RFC's, can you search for a header like that and
see if it is documented. When I searched at maybe www.rfc.net, it came
up with no results upon 'return-receipt-to'.

Changing the return-receipt address?

2000-07-19 Thread Mark R Harding

Hi TBUDL,

I have used the macros...

  %REPLYTO="new-address"
  %FROM="new address"
  %RETURNPATH="new-address"

... in some templates for outgoing mail where I want the replies to be
routed to a specific account. However, if I request a received and/or
reading receipt when sending a message using the above then the
receipt details in the header read something like...

  X-Confirm-Reading-To: old-address
  Return-Receipt-To: old-address

Here, by old-address I probably should say that the old-address is
the same as the account's default email address. I do not want to have
to change the default account address merely to send one or two
messages per day.

Is there a macro which doesn't appear on the macro-list menu that will
set this such that the receipts go to my new-address as do the
replies? I'd like to be able to achieve this and would appreciate
your advice.

Best wishes,

Mark
