Thanks Thomas, but I already did this a little while back and while I
got several smart suggestions, none have solved the problem.  I updated
the bug with this fact.

See my next post (new thread) also for another bug I am starting to get
a handle on.

Well you see that was your big mistake - I learnt a long time ago not to report 
bugs or add things to the wishlist - do that and they automatically go into the 
ignore box.

It's the things that users don't flag as important that get dealt with quickly!
