the parent messages. I just did a test and sent a mail to myself with
an image attached. I deleted the message and then emptied the Trash
When I compose an e-mail note and close it without sending it, I am
prompted to save it or not.
If I save it, it goes to the Outbox. If I choose not to save it, it is
gone. Fair enough.
However if I open a message in the Outbox to continue editing, and
choose not to save it, the original message
Hello MFPA,
A! That may be the reason, that your message was
just sent to MFPA and he replied to the list.
Yes. I just thought my filters or templates were playing up, and
adjusted the To adress of my replies manually.
OK, that explains it. At first I thought it was my filters
Hello Stuart,
Another issue.
I keep two complete copies of the TB mailing lists. One is a POP
account and the other is an IMAP account. (I do this for testing
purposes). The POP account kept the whole thread together despite my
missing message. The IMAP account which uses the same View

Hello Leonard,
However if I open a message in the Outbox to continue editing, and
choose not to save it, the original message in the Outbox disappears
also.
Not the behavior here. If I don't save the edited version the original
stays in the Outbox. I have just tested it.

Hello Leonard,
Why is does the original disappear also? It ought to go to Trash.
No, it ought to stay in Outbox as a Parked (Draft) message, like it does
in my case. I've been doing further testing and even if I unpark the
message in Outbox before opening it for edit, if I don't save the

I just found it. I had sent it instead of closing it (red-faced).
Thanks.

Hello TBUD Listers,
Well, it's happened again. Several months ago (after a TB upgrade IIRC)
roguemoticons and smileys stopped working. This failure has finally reached the
point of annoyance where I feel the need to do something about it. I scoured
the archives for about an hour looking for

I just tested with my IMAP account. It didn't save here, either.
Just gone ... exactly as Leonard described. Sorry to confirm.

My IMAP folder behaves as you describe - no save.
I hadn't discovered this yet; there have been other issues here,
but given that we seem to have lost the drafts folder altogether,
it's kind of

That's not what happened here, though. I've not only looked in
that account's outbox/sentfolder/trash - I looked in the others,
too, because I've had some exciting filter behaviour here.

On combing my other accounts one more time - I found mine in the
sent folder of my isp account (POP).
I'm guessing that would be a filter issue, though ... still, I
closed the thing,

Right you are. I just tested a couple of POP accounts, and they
