Re: Insert LINK?
Hello Jernej and Robin, JS Did you read my message till the end? I read it, but then I messed up. You'd think I'd know better. I used the globe/chain html button, but it didn't seem to work. Well, although I've got over a hundred pages on the web on two web sites, I forgot to begin http://; (@!#$@) I guess we all make dumb mistakes from time to time. And I was under time pressure. So thank you both! I got it. (A bit late). Thanks(for)giving! --Ed Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Thanks to the people who replied here and via direct email. Bottom line: I wonder why TB! can't put in hyperlinks. Shouldn't be difficult to code. Then you could have a click here instead of long URL's that even TinyUrl can't compress enough. URL's get in the way of communicating, sometimes. Much appreciate suggestions. -- Ed mailto:edgerm...@earthlink.net Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

If you don't want to use html, you have to use plain text, I don't believe there is any standards-based third option. And plain text is just that, plain text. It has no way of hiding a long URL, so you just have to put up with it in all it's glory. This isn't a problem of TB!, it is a fact of the way email messages are structured. -- Robin Using The Bat! v4.2.44.2 Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Popfile v1.1.1 Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Everyone, I'm in a jam. I need to get a complicated email out quickly, but it has looong URLs in it. And I don't know (or don't remember) how to turn a URL into a link. You know, like to here. Would very much appreciate a reminder of how to do this. Or can't you do this in TB? -- Ed mailto:edgerm...@earthlink.net Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

If you're sending out a plain text message, just paste the link - TB won't wrap it, and nearly every e-mail client out there will treat the link properly: http://hugeurl.geeks.org/?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 Another option is to use HTML message, where you can use the URL button (looks like a globe with chain link). -- Jernej Simončič http://eternallybored.org/ The grass is brown on both sides of the fence. -- Ed Yourdonradar's Fundamental Truth Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
