For DRA example, the same author may respond twice to the same thread. This would be ***extremely*** unlikely. DRA I think file size would be perhaps the most reliably meaningful and DRA absolute measure of a difference. TB! uses message ID's to detect duplicated messages. If two messages share the same ID's, then one is deleted. This is a more foolproof method than message size. This is the ID for your message: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ^^ This is random [EMAIL PROTECTED] ^^ This is the date and time the message was created down to the nearest second!! DRA Everybody out there feeling really confident in this default DRA technique? I'm quite confident about it as is. How likely is it that two TB! messages will have the same Id?:-) If you look at the format of other message ID's for none TB! users, you'll see that it's very unlikely that e-mail message ID's could be duplicated. - -- A. Hello Marck, On Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 04:35:51 GMT +0100 (which was 8:35 PM where I live) witnesses say Marck D. Pearlstone typed: I just want to clarify one point: Your message, for instance, had the ID [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is ^^ ^^ Random MMDDHHSS Number So the messageID is generated with a large random number then the time stamp from your computer to 1/100th of a second. I'm sure you can't send messages that quick to get duplicates. Plus with the random number, the chances are *very* slim. -- Thanks for writing, Januk Aggarwal See header for e-mail address Using The Bat! 1.47 Beta/7 under Windows 98 4.10 Build A -- -- View the TBUDL archive at http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBUDL, double click here and send the message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
