That's quite funny; I first learned of Hamster some years ago from
Agent users trying to set up Agent for more than one news server to
specifically use Agent further. You are the first one I hear from who
does not want to use Agent (esp. with Hamster). ;-)

After using The Bat! for mail I find Agent insufficient. Especially
it lacks the ability to use different templates for newsgroups in
different languages. I do not know if Xnews is better, but it has no
off-line mode so I do not want to try it out without Hamster.

But I guess Marck is going to chase this discussion over into TBOT
  real soon now.

Have you tried arranging threads by reference? If you do,
changing the subject won't matter and messages will still
thread properly.

They always seem to localise this, in Germany you get AW:. The best
part is, when you reply, you get a subject line starting Re: AW:.
And when this is replied to from OE it comes back as AW: AW:. this
can go on forever if one doesn't change the line manually.

I know there was a RegEx floating around on the German list. If you
could post it here, it should be easy for Otmar to replace AW with SV,
or other people with their respective abbreviations created by
localised versions of OE.

Äh, you should post, I don't have it. I've never been on the German
list ... or did you ever encounter me there?
