Maybe you could send one to demonstrate?

BM I had to insert the Sender: header field manually (as X-Sender!) and
BM I had to save the message into the Outbox to get the Bat! to let me
BM put my address into the Sender: field.

I did this by just typing ; [EMAIL PROTECTED] after what was already in the
from field.

JR Hi Pete. I assume all msgs have been read.

JR Open Sorting office Filters
JR Click on 'Read' Messages
JR Click 'New' give your filter a name
JR At strings add @ w/o quotes so it selects any sender

Changed this to \w
when the @ had no affect.
JR Under Actions Tab select Add address to Address Book
JR Select 'Sender (from)' it's the default I think
JR Add to Groups create a dummy group to add these names to
JR Under Options Tab
JR Select Execute action set of this rule by pressing the Hot Key
JR add your hot key(s) of choice

I used CTRL-SH-F12

JR Click Close
JR Select all messages in folder
JR Run filter via short cut keys

Addressbook group did not get any additions.

Seems like it should work but nothing happens.

Z Hi Pete,

Z Try this filter. It is set to manual and you have to point it at the right
Z directory and create the appropriate address book(mine is called auto).
Z Then use refilter / manual in the directory and you will have a address
Z book with all the e-mail addresses. The export the address book to plain

Z BeginFilter
Z Name: Auto add

Cool! Where do I put this? It doesn't seem to fit the point-and-click
filter creation in TB.

Thanks.

 Hi Pete,

There are a few ways to do this.

One is to write a filter that add the name to an address book when they
arrive. YOu can export these later to a CSV file which you can read into a
spreadsheet or word processor or... etc.

BM The question (IMHO) asks about multiple From addresses in a single message, not
BM multiple messages in a folder.

Sorry to be ambiguous. What I want is to harvest each From address from
a group of email messages.

I have a folder full of email messages.

MDP Yes, using a manual filter. You would export each message,
MDP appending to a file, using macros to only export:

MDP %FROMNAME %fromaddr

Cool. Where do I learn about filters and macros?
