I have altered my settings under Options - Preferences - Viewer / Editor and also used the macro Feli suggested (%SETEDITOR="4") in the folder properties for that mailing list, and all seems to be working OK now. I see the html text quoted when I reply to a post and my reply for this folder is also in html. Replies to messages in other folders is in plain text which is what I prefer to use. I am still unsure if TB's behaviour is correct and as expected, or if these measures are abnormal, but many thanks to all for guiding me through this. I have sent you a PM with a message from the folder as an attachment. It appeared as a .eml file, I am hoping this is correct? I didn't use the address book though, I just added the macro line you cited in the folder properties, REPLY section. -- Chris Wilson "Using The Bat! v5.8.10 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3" -- Current version is 6.1.8 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I tend to keep clear of html in mailing lists and e-mail in general, so have little experience with this. Thanks for the idea, I went to the Options menu in the e-mail composition window, and if I set html only, or plain text and html the original text shows in the editor, and I CAN REPLY! I have endured this list as a reader only, or copy pasted text for years. Is there a way for TB! to be set to reply to this one mailing list with html, and to use regular plain text for all my many other lists please? Out of curiosity Becky! just seems to recognise this group as "different" and replies with quoted text showing with no additional intervention. Does that mean Becky! is not following good practice? http://www.chriswilson.tv/hpsdr4.jpg Thanks again. -- Chris Wilson "Using The Bat! v5.8.10 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3" -- Current version is 6.1.8 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
