If you're currently using procfs, please respond with exactly what parts of it are actually needed by the programs you run. Without a good reason to keep it, it'll be deleted, as I broke listing of /proc back in January and no one has noticed, suggesting that no one is actually using it... I suspect procfs is only enabled on i386 because that's the only arch with compat_linux support? If so, anyone who relies on compat_linux support should be sure to test and report back if they have problems. I do use it occasionally, and I don't run -current so I wouldn't have noticed any breakage yet. I don't rely on it, however, it's a convenience feature that I very occasionally use, and only manually when I do.
