Last I heard, upgrading from /anything/ to current by source code is not
supported. If you want current, install a snapshot. Compiling is for
making or testing code AFTER you have upgraded to the most recent snapshot.

So, I think this is going the wrong direction.

small detail on faq current upgrade guide.

Since some confusion was noticed about this sentence, this might make
it clearer:

$ cvs -q diff -u current.html

diff -u -p -u -r1.982 current.html

+++ current.html13 Mar 2019 10:45:02 -

 upgraded after booting into the new system.

-Upgrading to -current by compiling your own source code is not supported.
+Upgrading to -current from a release by compiling your own source

 Most of these changes will have to be performed as root.

And since gmail in all its wisdom probably html-mangled the diff, its
also available here:
http://c66.it.su.se:8080/obsd/faq-upgr.diff
in all it's simplicity.
