Hi,

Rochester hosts a mirror, Justin Flory is or used to be there. You should
talk to him, he surely knows what, where and who in the area. He's on
Telegram as @jflory.  He's on Twitter and IRC too but I don't remember his

There were kernel packing changes between kernels 4.14 and 4.15. You
should have been on 4.15 before the update to Fedora 28. Fedora 28 is
on kernel 4.16.

You should file a bug.

Thanks. I've dropped a comment there. I'm seeing it with openmpi, while
you've filed it for mpich. Maybe it's to do with the
"environment-modules" package that is responsible for setting modules up
rather than these specific packages?
