I for one wasn't able to get it to work as it's documented in that file. I think you said it did work for you. I didn't look at the code though.
No, it didn't work exactly as stated in the docs, but close enough.
what does close enough mean?
In other words how do you think it should work? Should it not generate its own httpd.conf if it finds httpd.conf.in?
