Where is the tex.fmt?
What happens if you run
fmtutil --byfmt=tex
Thomas
was finished install the teTex. I run "tex".
The window showed the error message
"..
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.1)
I can't find the format file `tex.fmt'!"
I searched /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/web2c,
but I can't find "tex.fmt".
That's all.

I installed teTeX-1.0 source version.
Did you follow the instructions, e.g. INSTALL or QuickInstall?
More specifically, did you install the texmf tarball?
