xdvi errors? their meaning?

2000-10-05 Thread Walter Tautz

A user gets the following error:

  % xdvi ~shallit/Courses/462/2000/project.dvi
xdvi.bin: Cannot recognize format for font file
/software/tetex-1.0/data/texmf/fonts/pk/jetiiisi/public/cm/cmmi7.329pk

What does this generally mean. I just tried his file on my system
running the same version of tetex and I experienced no such problem.

xdvik and XFree86-4 update

2000-10-05 Thread Mate Wierdl

OK, so I recompiled teTeX-1.07 against XFree86-4.0.1, and the buttons
are back. But what a pain.

This also means that RH 7.0 users will not complain since they get a
tetex package which is compiled against the new XFree86.

Error opening terminal: generic.

2000-10-05 Thread Alex Farrell WA15 consultant

Hi all,

Well, I'm sure *someone* must have seen the error:

Error opening terminal: generic.

when running texconfig.

I make'd teTeX v1.0.7, with the texmf dir correctly identified, and all
was successful. However, make install fails with the above error when it
runs texconfig. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
