I'm new to this group: Hello world!

This is my problem:
I've downloaded, configured and compiled teTeX 1.0.7 whithout any errors by
doing the following:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local &&
make

When I now starting make install (as root of course) it seems to install
quite a much of things but then suddently fails:
make install
[...]
make: *** [install] Error 1

What does this error message mean? - I'm knowing the normaly there is an
error message before make stops doing but this error is printed in the first
line of an cleared screen (scrolling dosen't even help).

Then I've redirected the output in a install.log file:
make install &> install.log

install.log:

Whatever this means... Any suggestions?

Thanks.
