that they were used because i had the line `\usepackage[T1]{fontenc} in my document. after Use \usepackage{ae} instead... ...Rolf removing that (i dont have any real use for it anyway), cm fonts were used all around, and the pdf fonts are smooth as a baby's behind... ;-) -- || Rolf
