We cross at Nuevo laredo on the way to and from Huautla every year, sometimes at Colombia and sometimes at the main crossing in town. It hasn't been a problem, and we never see anything out of the ordinary. However, we make a point of crossing in daylight, and we don't drive at night in general.

[Texascavers] UTG program last night

Last night, from the comfort of my home in Irving, Texas, I watched and enjoyed the program live from Austin. I used the app Periscope. It was easy. The program was a slide show and lively narrative by Fernando Hernandez about this year's PESH (Proyecto Espeleologico Sistema Huautla)

Do Texas cavers still pass thru the bordertown of Nuevo Laredo on their way to Bustamante ? If so, here is a travel-safety-related story: Last Sunday, there were allegedly 2 shoot-outs between an alleged group of men with assault rifles, and some group authorized by the gov't to fight crime.
