Whoever did the ABC graphics apparently didn't know the symbol for
limestone. :-) (It does look like a Non Cave.)

for the link to that Cueva de El Abra video. I knew there had been some
infrastructure added around the entrance, like stairs and guard rails, but I
didn't realize it went so far into the cave. Too bad, in a way, but maybe it
helps keep non-caver tourists on the path. That was one of

Fissure 8 ( as it has been called for the passed 2 months ) is now a very
active volcano in its own majesty. USGS or somebody will have to
rename it
soon.I have seen people referring to it as Leilani Cone or Leilani
Volcano.It will be slightly bigger tomorrow and each day as long as
PS, they left out the most important geologist, Don Swanson on that clip. Here

Just as an aside, if you google "inside the closed hawaii volcanoes national
park" the youtube video of that is pretty amazing. Not as "wow" as flowing
lava, but for those of us who go to Halemaumau a lot the changes
are rather mind blowing.
