As long as those ropes have been stored as described and not exposed to acids, alkalies, bleach, etc., I would certainly use them. I use 20-year-old rope frequently. Just recently I got some rope test results from a TAG caver (Jim Youmans) who had used and abused some of his caving ropes after they were retired from caving. In spite of having been used to tow things and left out in the sun and soaked in water, the tests came back astonishingly strong; certainly good enough for continued use even in caving.
