Rick Rigg went to Huautla in 1982 (worked on Nita Nashi). He was also active in a few other areas of Mexico for a while. Before that he was active in BCCS (Butler Cave) in Virginia while living in Pennsylvania, and then did some alpine caving in the west after moving to Idaho. After he quit caving, Rick became heavily involved in kayaking and river running out West. He was on the 2-week, 200-mile trip I did with Blake Harrison, George Love, Rene Shields, etc. on the Middle Fork and Main Salmon Rivers in 1999.
