Dear Friends,
One month from tomorrow, June 1st 2013, is the deadline for papers for the
National Cave and Karst Management Symposium (NCKMS). This note is a reminder
to complete and send in your papers by that deadline. Do not expect any leeway
in that deadline because to address a concern
Coming up May 11th will be the next karst project trip to Government Canyon
SNA in San Antonio. There will be no project activities on Sunday. Please
note the schedule change. The project was previously posted as running both
days. Camping is still available Friday and Saturday nights. Contact me
So, KIWI SINK Dig this Sunday around 10 of the a.m. We opened the muddy
floor last Sunday and are digging in clean (mostly) water washed breakdown
now. Still a bit of clean-up to do in the old mud floor but it's really
fast and furious digging all around the pit. We loaded out 15 or 16 barrels
Thanks to Christopher Francke for finding this link with the movie times for
the Austin showing on Friday May 3rd.
For Gill and others wondering Where the doodah is the Great Hills, they are in a mythical place called the Arboretum in North Austin, which
is across the Great River and far far
This looks promising

I was driving in northeast Houston today, ( which is an area of town a
tourist should avoid ), and the old US Hwy 59, is now marked I-69 north of
Loop 610, at least to the northern edge of Harris County.
