As if there was not enough caving going on this Saturday, I would like to
remind folks we will be lopping and chopping at Ezells Cave Preserve starting
at 9:00 in the morning. If you can attend, bring tools (shovel, machete,
wheelbarrow, etc.) for a fun day in the sun.

Geary and others---the date for TSA Spring Convention is April 22-24, 2016. Any
further details will have to come from future Vice Chair, Jim Kennedy. It will
be at the Edwards County Fairgrounds facilities in Rocksprings.

Folks, please belay any previous announcements about the TSA Spring Convention.
They are premature. We do not yet have confirmation on the dates or the site
yet. But if all goes as planned, it will be the dates and site mentioned.

Let us hope that the 2016 TSA Convention can be held in Rocksprings for it
would be a significant historic exclamation point.
These days, we accept an annual convention of Texas cavers as a routine thing
but it was not always so. Texas cavers were plodding along
with no such thing until 1956.
Charles "Squire" Lewis kept a log of his travels the summer of the 1966 NSS
convention in California. Three people from the Reading, Pennsylvania, Grotto
(say Redding) made a prolonged road trip that included the convention, caving
in Xilitla area and touristing in Mexico. Along the way they
