I am leaving Sugarland, Texas at 11 p.m. tonight ( now, Saturday, the 27th
), and driving west along I-10.

My daughters and I made a raft trip from Lajitas thru Santa Elena Canyon in
April, 1979. Not guided, we just rented a raft. We stayed at the fairly new
Cavalry Post motel in Lajitas and while there experienced a somewhat severe
hail storm which covered the ground. We spent the first night at
Greetings Cavers -

The TCR Cooks plan to have a dinner fundraiser to help pay for their new

Visited the cave in 2000 in the winter when the bats were gone. The mayor
was afraid that there was still histo there and we all wore masks. I was
with Terry Raines the first time we dove the syphon into the back parts of
the cave.
