Subject: EMERGENCY BULLETIN - Huge Flood hits BTSR
Date: Wed, 17 Sep 2014 22:41:19 +0000
To:
Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch desperately needs clean-up crews to dig out
from a major flash flood that came down from Goat Cave Creek on Friday,
September 12th. It was larger than anything experienced in at least the
last 30 years. Flood damage includes:
* Pool shower house / latrine
* Rocks and boulders in the pool
* Slab for the pool has been partially washed out
* Large trees between the Old Folks Home and the pool washed out
* Both Jeeps, all Kawasaki Mules and four ATV's were submerged
* Shop area was flooded leaving large amounts of silt and rocks
* Water damage to Ranger's house, Buffalo Hall, and the Dining Hall.
BTSR needs anyone that can come out with a shovel in hand. Please
consider coming to BTSR over the next several weeks to lend a hand. With
Cub-O-Rees scheduled October 18th and 25th, we need to make sure the
Dining Hall is operational. The bottom line is BTSR needs help,
desperately! The ideal weekends are the weekends of September 26 - 28,
October 3 - 5, and October 10 - 12.
If whole troops are unable to help, individuals or families are welcome
to volunteer weekdays or weekends. Contact Rangerdan directly to
schedule a time and projects. You can reach Dan at:

432-426-3709
If you have your own, please bring:
* Shovels
* Rakes
* Wheelbarrows
* Gloves and any other tools that would be beneficial
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the damage at camp, any camping will be primitive.
Troops need to bring their own food and water. At this time, there is
water available but we cannot guarantee that it will still be when you
arrive.
