 I am experiencing the same issue with CakePHP 1.2.4.8284.

 Adding "reset" as true, and a call to Model->resetBindings() does not
 resolve the issue. To sidestep this issue, the hasMany association has to
 be redefined before the find(); e.g.

 {{{
 Model->hasMany["Assoc"] = array(
    "className" => "Assoc",
    "foreignKey" => "model_id"
 );
 }}}
