#5545: Auth component: two fields as username (i.e. emailadress and username) --------------------------+------------------------------------------------- Reporter: d1rk | Type: Enhancement Status: new | Priority: Medium Milestone: 1.2.x.x | Component: Auth Version: RC3 | Severity: Normal Keywords: d1rk auth | Php_version: n/a Cake_version: | --------------------------+------------------------------------------------- I would love to be able to specify more than one field as a username- field. It would look like this:
{{{ $this->Auth->fields = array('username' => array('email_address', 'username'), 'password' => 'password'); }}} I would then be able to have users register on my site with their emailadress. Then, after some time, they can shorten their login by using a username, too. But the emailadress should work as well. Amazon and some other big sites are using this mechanism, so less users forget their usernames and can use their emailadress in case they forgot their usernames. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.cakephp.org/ticket/5545> CakePHP : The Rapid Development Framework for PHP <https://trac.cakephp.org/> Cake is a rapid development framework for PHP which uses commonly known design patterns like ActiveRecord, Association Data Mapping, Front Controller and MVC.
