I've also had the same issue with the latest edition, 0.0.4 (I'm on Windows 8.1 64-bit too) - the desktop window briefly appears, then vanishes, but is still running as a background process on viewing the Task Manager. It seems to be a bug? (https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyDesktop/issues/52)

OK it worked ONCE. I closed the window and tried to relaunch it and nothing appeared to happen. If I look in the task manager, nw.exe is running but I don't see it anywhere in the task bar etc. If I kill the process tree and re-launch nw.exe it works again. Because I no longer use windows
