[tw] Re: Frame around every tiddler

2018-02-16 Thread 'Surya' via TiddlyWiki
Hi :-)

I solved one part of it :-

When I write .tc-tiddler-frame.tc-tagged-RezeptNICHTgetestet {
background-color:green; } then all tiddlers get totally green, the body
included. But not the tags, and not the titlebar. Like I want it.

Now, the second part of my question:

The bottom of the red marked frame in my surya-diy-wiki:
I think, it is the footer, which is maybe modified by the MyMenus plugin.
Because, in my other plant-wiki without MyMenus, there isn't such a big
bottom (because of my PageStylesheet).
In the surya-diy-wiki I have the same PageStylesheet. But I have the
MyMenus-plugin (which I like a lot). There I have a menu in the footer of
all tiddlers. But also, if I remove that menu from tiddler-footers, there
is still this big bottom.
Because of that, I think, the MyMenus-plugin changed the style of all
footers.

I looked into the elements-inspector and found something:
There is written:

.
.
. (a lot of things, which are related to things between the title and
the bottom.)
 (that is the menu in the footer)

When I delete the last , then the footer gets like I want it.

But how can write that into the Stylesheet, so that the style of the footer
is saved like that??

Surya

In my view, having an import filter that creates titles with

I asked the same question only a couple of days ago!

I made a tiddler called $:/Floatleft with img { float: left; } as the text and
tagged as $:/tags/Stylesheet

Then in the tiddler I a wanted the text to wrap around a pic I put @@Floatleft

Example can be seen here:

A quick search fort css float gives other options.

There are some settings in the control panel (under the “Settings” tab) that

The current story river is tracked in the “list” field of a tiddler called

Where do you get the data from?

How does it become a tiddler?

How would you want to invoke the macro?

Wouldn't it be sufficient to have a bookmarklet

[tw] Scrolling to opened tiddlers

2018-02-16 Thread Joe Armstrong
One thing I love about the TW is you don't lose context when you click on a
link.

In regular HTML when you click on a link the current page is *replaced* by
a new page. So it's easy to forget
where you can from and you can't see it on the screen.

In the TW the new tiddler is opened below the current tiddler so you can
see both - but this is
not true if the new tiddler has been opened and is off screen, in this case
the display is scrolled to
the new tiddler - so you loose (or can't see the context)

What I'd like to is make the behaviour uniform so that when I click on a
link the
tiddler *always* gets displayed below the current tiddler - ie promote it
in the list of opened tiddlers.

Is this possible?

I will add, if you have a 2 screen setup an index of tiddlers in a tiddler eg;
table of contents opened in a new window, with the browser tab in fullscreen
mode and sidevar tabs closed you effectivly have a presentation.

[tw] Issue: Auto-Enumeration. I have no idea how.

2018-02-16 Thread TonyM
The need to add numbers to make titles unique suggests you have made some less
than perfect choices. Think of tiddlers titles as keys to a database. Titles
are the primary key and should be unique so in this case you are doing so
artificaly. Captions need not be unique.

Just 2cents worth.

Yes, it could be used in many ways for many things. I was a bit astonished
that there isn't already something like that in the core.

Something else but related is having simple comparisons in TW. My opinion:
comparing two numbers if one is greater than the other should be possible
by default without having to rely on plugins

I'll do some more dev-group pinging

There’s a few solutions that I know of:

https://tiddlywiki.com/talkytalky is a simple scrolling presentation with a
“next slide” button at the top left

https://jermolene.com/talkytalky is more hypertext-y: click the links to
advance to the next slide (there’s also a little button at the top right to
open the speaker notes in a separate window)

https://tiddlywiki.com/editions/introduction is a bit simpler; there’s a video
of this one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtCUr83XgyE

I’ve also experimented with using the https://revealjs.com/
 framework with TiddlyWiki:

https://federatial.com/reveal-js/

(the same content is rendered to https://federatial.com/ as a “static” website
(there’s actually a small bit of JS to funk up the scrolling))

There may well be other options too,

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Hello Simon,
very good. The viewport.js sound very interesting to. You wrote above ,
the viewport macro is "measuring" the viewport.
Especially for mobile use it would be very practical to be able to set
the viewport based on conditions with a function like this

But that's just an idea an an entirely different story.

Hallo Simon:

thanks for the information,

  * the formula plugin =$:/plugins/ebalster/formula?
  * the pan widget $:/plugins/BTC/tiddly-touch/widgets/pan.js
  * the hammer.js lib $:/plugins/BTC/tiddly-touch/lib/hammer.js
  * the viewport.js macro
$:/plugins/BTC/tiddly-touch/macros/viewport.js
  * the modified story PageTemplate $:/core/ui/PageTemplate/story
  * the slidebar styles Tiddler

Wonderful and verrry useful idea... but quite a lot of dependencies...
When you install the modified storyTemplate and one of them is
missing the story remains void...and it could be hard to recover
from that.
(Luckily i tried it on my tiddlyspot so that it was no hassle at all)

It would be useful to have a complete solution or a fallback in
the Pagetemplate for that case.

Thanks again for your work,
Jan

There’s a Google Group for Quine set up by the author, Chris Hunt:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/quine-app

I use Quine every day; it makes the iPad Pro (with iOS 11) a terrific
TiddlyWiki machine. (I also highly recommend LiquidText for the PDFy stuff that
TiddlyWiki isn’t so good at).

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Re: [tw] Re: How to handle a lot of wikis with Node

2018-02-16 Thread Tristan Kohl
I do not have much time right now unfortunately but as I see from the
Dev-Tools there is only one initial load of the wiki. Afterwards it just
periodically polls the Tiddler list. Since you know more about the ins and
outs of TW would it be hard to just let TW generate this initial view for
multiple wikis determined by the URL and consecutively the tiddlers
JSON? As my 99% text-only tiddlers do not eat up that much memory I would
be fine if they were all stored within Node. I only need to get rid of
redundant Node instances all loading a full TW environment and snacking
away my limited RAM 30 - 40 MB at a time.
