[tw5] Re: TiddlyWorldBuilder

2022-04-13 Thread Mark Krieg
Thank you so very much for your efforts with TiddlyWorldBuilder!!! This is
a dream come true for me! The best of Stroll blended with Mentat!!! If I
had the time and the programming chops, I'd dive right in to help bring it
up to the 5.2 code. Unfortunately my programmer days have long past and the
languages I used to use are largely extinct. But I hope you continue your
development with with TiddlyWorldBuilder! Simply brilliant!!!

Re: [tw5] Re: Two stories in TiddlyWiki

2020-04-16 Thread Mark Krieg
I just ran across this conversation and I'm *thrilled* with what you guys
are doing! I highly agree with "user configurable setting". I love having
loads of options as a user! I have several TiddlyWikis but one for my
personal journal that currently has 4965 tiddlers with external image links
and many _canonical_uri: of external audio. Using two story rivers has
opened up a world of exploration to me!

My TiddlyWiki version is: 5.1.22

I'm loading the images by dragging them onto my TiddlyWiki, importing them,
and referencing the tiddler like so:

*{{57e44c4c47311360f4f8f4e485bb47b1.jpeg}}*

The way I launch TW in node.js is:

*alias twsrv='cd ~/Dropbox/TiddlyWiki5 && tiddlywiki

[tw5] Lots of images and audio

2019-09-23 Thread Mark Krieg
Greeting everyone!

I've got a personal journal in TiddlyWiki of less than 5000
entries/tiddlers. However when I started loading lots photos it began
crashing under node.js.

I have two needs, the best way to handle large numbers of images and audio,
and also a method to server it via HTTP so I can access it from anywhere.

I thought that node.js was my solution, only loading the tiddlers as I used
them, however that doesn't seem to be the case.

Any suggestions would be MOST welcome!

Every blessing,

Mark

[tw5] Counting all Tiddlers

2019-08-03 Thread Mark Krieg
Maybe I'm missing something very obvious, but is there a way for me to
count the total number of tiddlers in my TiddlyWiki? For example I have a
tiddler that currently counts up various tags:

|Journal Entries |<$count filter="[tag[personal_journal]] "/>|
|Dreams |<$count filter="[tag[dream]] "/>|
|joke |<$count filter="[tag[joke]] "/>|
|Memories |<$count filter="[tag[memories]] "/>|

But how can I count ALL tiddlers in my TiddlyWiki?

[tw5] Conditional fonts based on Operating System

2019-03-16 Thread Mark Krieg
Is it possible to have a stylesheet that would check for the current
operating system and change the font accordingly, or possibly just have
TiddlyWiki choose a different stylesheet based on the operating system? If
so, how would I go about that?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm have heavy Quine app user for iOS, but
iOS has a limited selection of fonts compared to Mac OS. I'd like to have a
particular font in my stylesheet unique to my MacBook and another font
chosen for iOS.

[tw5] Re: [tw] Can someone please give an example of external image linking

2019-02-01 Thread Mark Krieg
This reply was very helpful to me! I was able to get the _canonical_uri
image tiddler working in TiddlyDesktop, but under Node.js, I don't know
where I store the images folder. I'm using the server edition on Node.js.

Under TiddlyDesktop I use: TiddlyWikiMedia/IMG_0459.jpg where the folder
TiddlyWikiMedia is in the same location as my TiddlyWiki.html file.

But under Node.js, where do I place the TiddlyWikiMedia folder so that it
works with the same reference?

I've tried all sorts of locations and none of them seem to work.

I hope that explanation makes sense!

Every blessing!

Mark

[tw5] Re: Scrivener and Tiddlywiki

2019-01-01 Thread Mark Krieg
I'll throw in my 2 cents...

I've never encountered a typing speed issue. I'm a fast typist and I
primarily use a MacBookPro with Chrome browser. My primary TiddlyWiki is
88.7 megs. I use TW5 with node.js, however if I save it to a single .html
file, although the launch is slow, I notice no lag when typing. As Mark S.
commented, it probably depends on your platform (hardware and software). I
also serve my node.js version frequently from a Raspberry Pi B+ with no lag!

[tw5] Advanced Search Question

2018-12-31 Thread Mark Krieg
I have a question regarding the Advanced Search feature. I have a number of
entries titled with various date formats:

2018.12.31 (period separators)
2018-12-31 (dash separator)

...and when performing an *Advanced Search* using the *In Fields* tab and
searching the *title* field, if I search for *2018.* then I receive title
names beginning with 2018- as well. This same result happens with and
without the insensitive option enabled. So in other words, the search
doesn't distinguish the characters of period and dash as being
different/unique. Is there any way around this?

Many thanks!
