With the lazy-load tiddler on node-js supporting larger collections of files it seems like a potentially very useful tool. [tw5] Re: 3D file preview?
Looking at the demos on that site, they all seem to be for .json files :( But, There is the .js program that sets up the scene, the lights etc. http://rboue.tiddlyspot.com/#Three.js%2FDemos%2Fhorse.js There is the actual data file, in our case this would be the stl: http://rboue.tiddlyspot.com/#Three.js%2FTests%2Fmodels%2Fanimated%2Fhorse.json and then the tiddler containing the widget: http://rboue.tiddlyspot.com/#Three.js%2FDemos%2Fhorse So I THINK it just needs something like this? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/11060261/what-is-the-preferred-method-for-loading-stl-files-in-three-js but my brain melted at that point. Would https://github.com/tonylukasavage/jsstl be any help/ use? Finally this, just because it looks shiny: https://threejs.org/examples/#webgl_loader_stl Any big brains out there any insight? Here is a simple cube as STL if anyone can make this magic happen!
