This is a good idea! I think it is possible to have a limited number of
save and then reset the number!
We need to have our customized button!
For the last part I have no idea.

Have you investigated changing the save name temporarily for a single save
option - like for a backup, or even with a different filter to save a
limited set of tiddlers?
