It seems there is some issue with setting .Xauthority correctly.
Can you please try to put "echo $XAUTHORITY" into .vnc/xstartup and
verify that value of this variable (output is in the .vnc/*.log file) is
same as Xvnc's -auth parameter?

Yes Adam, they are both pointing to same place: ~/
