I'm a successful customiser of TILT (see www.tafe.sa.edu.au/lili/ ) here in Australia. My customisation - LILI - is used in library orientation sessions as a hands-on complement to the walk-around tour of the library. It's also used in intro. Study Skills & intro. Internet courses in the Vocational Preparation programmes of my TAFE (Technical and Further Ed.) Institute.
Staff usually get student started on LILI and then leave them to it. Colleagues in TAFEs around South Australia are using it in the same way. -- susan -----Original Message----- From: Patty Cloud [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 05, 2003 2:23 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: TILT and in-person instruction ... We are interested in learning what other libraries' experiences have been in one particular area--that is, has TILT replaced or decreased the need for in-class instruction at your institution? Or has it made it possible to offer more focussed classes, since students can be expected to have been through the basic tutorial before coming to class? thanks for any info on this.
