I am wondering if I am actually seeing the eLORAN station at all. The
frequency of what I am seeing is 100,005.63 Hz. I can't imagine they would
be that far off frequency.

Thanks, John. There are a couple of these still around. I think that particular
specimen was sitting in a remote Minnesota cabin for many years. I have more
photos of it somewhere if anyone is interested. I passed on it due to its
weight and condition.

However I would most humbly point out that the cost of software is not
zero if the time-nutter places any value on his or her time.
Might I point out that the needs and goals of the hobbyist and the professional

Agree. Luckily, I am good at what I do for a living. If this type stuff
was my job I suspect I would either be out of work or paid very poorly.
Electronics and time are very taxing on my brain.. which is why I play
with them. I specifically avoided these things as a career path because

Maybe not - with your rx on 100 khz you should be able to hear pulses 10 khz
up or down from 100 khz. Wildwood is on now at 1730 z. TX may be quite a
stretch from NJ if Wildwood is not running full power. RNAV claims to be
able to cover usa with one transmitter from central usa and for sure
You can get some idea of industrial productivity if you can estimate
and remove non-industrial loads, perhaps by comparing weekends to
work weeks. The dip during working hours and the rise at 4-5 AM are
proportional to the total power used, for the same generating

Hi,
I'm searching for any information (manuals, catalogs, product
information) about the Femtosecond Systems phase noise measurement stuff.
Their systems are mentioned in some papers, but I couldn't find any
other information.
I'm especially looking for the FSSM100 to FSS1000E interface. I

I wonder if that is really worth more than its scrap value?

Hi
Without a working tube (or a way to rebuild a tube) it’s simply a pretty piece
of history. That particular one would take a bit of TLC simply to get it to the
pretty stage.

It may well be incomplete too. It is quite possible someone has raided
it for parts.

Adrian,

I have the FSS1000E manual, and I recently purchased a new scanner. I may not
have the time to scan the entire manual but could easily find time to send any
info on the noise source interface and send it to you.
That said Tom's option may be better, and the founder of FSS may have all the
I didn't think Stonehenge told 'time' ala a sundial.
Its' purpose was to herald the seasons' change, etc, I thought.

Ah, so you think this is more of a calendar-nut item than a time-nut..
What about a iPhone App? Orient the device using the built in

I have a Systron Donner 6153 counter
which has burnt out diodes on the fast
channel.
The display board has a big edge connector which
looks like it accesses all of the nixie and power
lines.
I am going to disassemble to make a nixie clock.
I may saw the display board in half in order to trim

I do like the name Atomichron NC 2001 - pretty cool name for something
made in 1954.
I agree - before I would buy it I would have to see some shots of the
innards. I think the seller did himself a misservice by not putting it in
a more orderly location before posting that picture.

Clearly the CS is pretty neat and would be curious whats inside. Hacked off
cables missing boards etc. $2500 is one heck of a lot of money for what
appears to be scrap metal.
So here is the deal of the day, for $2900 you can buy my HP5065a RB and it
actually works.
For that money I will throw in
LFPhoenix is on at 0314 and been doing very well.
Bill from the graphs in the ppt and the single transmitter site you should
not be able to hear it in TX. I do not believe they are running all that
much power.
