Re: [time-nuts] Sidereal seconds

Forty years ago I made a sidereal rate generator that inserted 128 pulse for every 46751 counted (solar frequency) pulses. The ratio of 46879/46751 is an accurate sidereal rate, good to 1 second in about 650 years. I used some CD4029 presettable counters to count down from 46751 and used two

The star catalog specifically designed for lunar occultations is the XZ (I'm guessing it stands for eXtended Zodiacal) Catalog from the US Naval Observatory. It's based on the earlier ZC and covers the band of brighter stars that can be occulted by the moon. Simbad should have these catalogs.

I think the PCB cut off at ebay # 300628220912 is an image artifact. If you look carefully you'll see the cut extend into the gray area on the right. Fluke-L (it's L, not i) wouldn't foist a sawn-off board to sophisticated buyers. Aart Olsen - Original Message - From: Ed Palmer

Instead of a GPS disciplined one ton mass, Huygens used a second clock on his mantel. The very slight acceleration that each pendulum exerted on the mantel caused the other clock to displace slightly, so its escapement triggered either earlier or later, and finally the clocks became

I'll vouch for the Thunderbolt Standard Easy Kit from Fluke.L (Bob Mokia) on ebay. The one I bought a month ago contained a new-in-a-box Tbolt (manufactured in 2004, with the Trimble OXCO and the higher resolution DS1620 thermometer (read the Time Nuts archives about the Tbolt variants);
