Jeff,
What is the 2nd harmonic meter reading?
If it is too low you will not be able to get the operate light on.
While watching the 2nd harmonic reading adjust the front panel beam I pot
for a reading of 35 to 45.
If pot is at max adjust the loop gain thru the front panel hole for the

Scott,
I'm not sure how late a model you have but on the A15 board you should
see a place for two resistors that are connected on the board in
parallel.
If you connect a high resitance decade resistor (start at 10Megs) across
one of the resistors.
Now while monitoring the EM divided voltage
There have been indications in the literature going back over 20 years
that some HP 5065A have VERY good short term stabilities, exceeding the
specifications by a large margin.
One of my aquaintances has tested all the newest rubidiums, including the
ones claiming superior short term stabilities.
Hi,
I am playing with an Austron 1250B and I'd like to add a fine frequency
adjust.
The data sheet I have on the 1150 oscillator inside indicates that the
EFC input is an option.
Anyone have a schematic for the 1250B that shows how the 1150 is wired
in.
If no EFC on this unit I'll be getting
Ulrich,
The 1200 #1 is built into a GR1115B that had a defective oscillator assy.
It could be that the power supply and or the EFC tuning circuit which is
hooked to the manual adjust pot is causing the difference.
If I get a chance I'll pull the oscillator and retest it and se what
happens.
I
Hi,
Anyone have a good Efratom FRKH module. The version with the row of
exposed pins vice the one with the multipin 3 row connector?

Hi,
I have had the occasion recently to measure the aging and short term
stability of a bunch of oscillators.
Measurements were against an EFOS-2 Hydrogen Maser.
I thought that the results between 10811A (-60109 variant) and the
10811-60111 might be of interest to some.
All oscillators had

The preheater would not be able to hold the oven at temp.
The internal oven must be working or you would not be able to lock.

The meter reading should peg or at least be noticably
Morris,
You implied that you tested the spare module on the bench.
You must connect the -side of the supply to the case of the module as
well as the pin. (this occurs in the unit by its connection to the
chassis)
If you don't the supply floats and you will only read about 1/2 the
voltage out.
Tim,
You need to make sure the ion pump current has dropped to 10 on the
meter or else the +18V supply is disabled.
If it is high watch the 18 volt meter position and momentarily remove the
A7 high voltage by pulling out the HV connector.
If the +18 comes up then reconnect the HV and let the

The Zeeman frequency is calculated by the amount of C-field current you
use.
If you change the Zeeman then to get the unit on frequency you then
have to change the synthesizer frequency and the C-field current to
compensate. The amount of C-field change is too big for the front panel
knobpot so a
Bill,
2095 is indeed for 12.6317716 Mhz and a Zeeman of 42.82Khz.
If you can't get splitting at 42.82 then change the synthesizer to
12.6317725Mhz and try again using 53.53Khz.
If no splitting at 53.53 within the C-field dial range you will need to
select a new resistor/s on the A15 board.
Hi,
The tube is in a vacuum so the ovens heat only has roundabout physical
paths to get to the outer case. If the tube feels warm at all at both
ends the oven and hotwire are probably working OK.
If you have a T type thermocouple temperature meter you can connect it to
the copper and silver
Jim,
Connect a scope to TP2 an the bottom of the A7 module at .5V/cm.
With the unit in open loop and the meter selection in error swing the
fine and/or coarse oscillator adjust back and forth.
You should see the error meter cross back and forth thru zero when the
oscillator goes thru the
Hi,
Anyone have a manual or data on the HP K04 59991A Frequency multiplier
comparator?
Takes two 5Mhz inputs and outputs an error multiplied 10Khz.
Thanks!

Hi,
Saw the posts on humidity and hermetic oscillators.
I have an HP 10811-60159 hermetic oscillator on ebay 320219546412 if
anyone is interested.
Also a lot with a bunch of Dud oscillators.

Anyone out there have a maintenance manual for a 4065A or 4065B cesium
standard?
I especially need the pinouts of the cesium tube to make an adaptor for
my cesium tube tester.
Thanks,

Hi,
I am needing the documentation on how to hook up a Foxboro pressure
sensor that is being used to measure the pressure out of a heated hydride
Hydrogen source for a passive maser package.
The maser package has no identifying logos or indication of who built it.
It was built in the 1983 to
Brian,
I once obtained a 5060A that was used in the time and frequency lab at
HP.
I guess it had sentimental value to them as they kept it going long after
the 5061B had come out.
It had a newer tube in it and more to the point it had one of the later
5061A/B style A11 oven controller modules
David,
Forgot one thing.
Once the unit has been running for an hour or so you should hook up a
laptop to the RS232 port and run the profiling software.
A good tube (in a good instrument as fault might not be the tubes!) will
read in band 1 for both parameters,
I can email you the program file
Bruce,
Thanks! The info helps a lot. This unit appears to be an improved later
version (1985 or so) of the unit in the PDF.
It has two isolation amps that can be cabled in as well as a switch
selectable delay line and a coarse and fine vernier phase adjust.
The mixers are mini circuits vice
Hi,
Could a few of the 5370B owners connect the counters reference output to

An earlier post implied that the last couple digits will wander around
due to the way its designed.

Tim,
It sound like your unit is locked.
Power it off for 15 minutes and then monitor the Xtal control when
powering back up.
It should sweep from about 2 volts to 15 volts.
Within 10 minutes it should stop sweeping indicating a lock.
After being locked for a few hours adjust the Xtal trim cap
