Jeff, What is the 2nd harmonic meter reading? If it is too low you will not be able to get the operate light on. While watching the 2nd harmonic reading adjust the front panel beam I pot for a reading of 35 to 45. If pot is at max adjust the loop gain thru the front panel hole for the 35-45

There have been indications in the literature going back over 20 years that some HP 5065A have VERY good short term stabilities, exceeding the specifications by a large margin. One of my aquaintances has tested all the newest rubidiums, including the ones claiming superior short term stabilities.

Ulrich, The 1200 #1 is built into a GR1115B that had a defective oscillator assy. It could be that the power supply and or the EFC tuning circuit which is hooked to the manual adjust pot is causing the difference. If I get a chance I'll pull the oscillator and retest it and se what happens. I

Morris, You implied that you tested the spare module on the bench. You must connect the -side of the supply to the case of the module as well as the pin. (this occurs in the unit by its connection to the chassis) If you don't the supply floats and you will only read about 1/2 the voltage out.

Bill, 2095 is indeed for 12.6317716 Mhz and a Zeeman of 42.82Khz. If you can't get splitting at 42.82 then change the synthesizer to 12.6317725Mhz and try again using 53.53Khz. If no splitting at 53.53 within the C-field dial range you will need to select a new resistor/s on the A15 board.
