Hi Peter-
I just bought 3 of them for 222MHz ham transverter use like Joe has
done.
Can't wait to get them. Thanks for listing them!

I, for one would be very willing to take a chance on one or two tubes
and see if there is any life left in them, but sadly I live in Va.
I have e-mailed a friend in Boulder to see if he ever heads out in

I can speak to the Freq West PLOs. They, like the others, use a
sampling phase detector. In theory you could use any subharmonic of
the actual L-band VCO frequecy to get the loop to lock. I have used
freqs as low as 5MHz. But there are limitations. You must couple the

I wish to survey some of my land here in the US. What used GPS
receivers out there might be good candidates?
I really don't want to haul a Z3801A out in the woods and run a self-
survey unless the cost is too high. :-)

Hi Jim,
Is BPSK the modulation used on such an 8bps link for DSN?
If so, any idea what limit of C/N is used? And in what BW?
My interest in short-term stability has always been for more DX on the
mm-wave ham bands. My best results were running QRSS with 1Hz BW on
241GHz but have often
FWIW.A good high quality compass needs to be designed based on
what region of the earth you plan to use it in. The Suunto ones I have

I would be willing to take a chance on a used tube if the price was
right.
Please keep me in mind as I have been looking for a used Cs tube.
