These people have all kinds of scanners and are putting some
amazing things online.

I think the main contributor to the death of their business is that new
equipment comes with usually worthless manuals, and even for those who have
somewhat better manuals, the instruments are still not repairable by the
amateurs.
I realize that free sites (like mine) probably did not help, but

Actually, Ken had permission from several to host the manuals, including

I think a simple solution is anyone that gets a free manual has to
scan it and upload it to BAMA or some other free manual website.
Nice in theory. Unlikely to work in practice, IMO.
BAMA is a laudible effort, but in practice many documents aree not
well scanned and some are nearly useless.

IMO, university libraries really do not give a damn about what working

I'm far less impressed with "university" resources for such things. IMO,
the stuff jusr vanishes.
Dave's business is scanning manuals so everybody can have them for very
reasonable prices.
YMMV,

Hi, tickers -- I recently picked up an HP 5353A plug-in for my HP
5345A. It's enroute now and is untested. I hate to pay twice as much
for a manual as I did for the unit, and I really like having docs on
stuff. I've visited all the usual suspects -- Didier, Boat-Anchor,

Now, does anyone have links, or probes for the TEK 1230/ 1220 analyzers? I

Oops! I read "changing" to be "charging".
The only data the cells protect is user setups. There is
no calibration data at risk.

It is not a rechargeable battery. It is a lithium iodide

Replace your 1240's battery!
It is a disaster waiting for a time to happen.
Use a new CR2477 with welded on tabs.
The same pacemaker battery is also in the 1240/41's
RAM cartridges.

Tom,
Got to http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/08565-90014.pdf and you can
download the ops & service manual for the 8565A. It starts out with the
installation notes for an attenuator upgrade, but scroll down in the file and
you'll find the ops and service info.
