[time-nuts] Restoration of a 5065A - Continued

Yes I noticed some peculiar behavior when I operated the A7stand alone on my lab bench, and tested the 2nd harmonic detector at 137and 274 Hz. Then when I examined the schematic for thenewer version I could see that HP obviously discovered the same thing. I think I will make a home-brew

Hi Ulf Also you noted the bulb had the thermionic device, That's used for remigrating the Rb into the reservoir there is a procedure for doing it in the manuals on the web. It can take up to a week to draw all the Rb back into the reservoir after long inactivity.Just make sure you use a

Totally agree with Scott. On the lamp thats good it lights. If you search older threads on Time-nuts you will see that on the FRS rubidiums you can heat the lamp with a heat gun and re-migrate the RB off of the glass. It makes them re-usable and extends the life very nicely. I do not suggest doing

[time-nuts] R XSRM Rubidium Standard

A friend of mine has bought a just out of calibration R & S XSRM Rubidium standard from one of the so called "recyclers" on Ebay. Although the price was good, and it came with the off air receiver, phase meter, and frequency divider, it looks to have been heavily decommissioned with

To all: I would highly recommend not to buy used test equipment on e-bay , mine (R) or HP or similar. These pieces are mostly out of calibration , defective , just too expensive to repair. I have 3 XSRM systems, which I co designed in 1970, they came from e-bay and needed $ 5000 + to be

Picked up a scrapped 5065A tonight. It was an early unit but a later one than the one I amtrying to fix. The XO was gone. From what I could see, it had beena 10811 type with adapter  since there was no 115V wiring. The RV Cavity was loose and I think that what was in this unit mayhave been a

It's that time again, just too much stuff, and not enough room at Sphere. For time nuts, I have precision oscillators, HP counters and spare boards, and all kinds of Time Code stuff. I was just over at Okanagan College, and they would be interested in another stuff day event for the students

I would say fix both units The color of the bulb is simply Rb vapor condensed on the walls of the envelope. 10811 units are fairly common at good hamfests and ebay Content by Scott Typos by Siri > On Sep 12, 2017, at 4:54 PM, Ulf Kylenfall via time-nuts > wrote: > > >
