Walter,
Are there manuals for these? I have a Trak 8390 and would like to
get a manual (or copy).
Thanks,
Mike Blazer

Walter,
If the two datachron units and the datum 9300 are still available, I would be
most interested.
Thanks!

Hi
You can spend *way* to much time analyzing these gizmos. The simple approach is
(almost) always better:
1) How much room do I have?
2) How high can I get it?
3) What sort of coil form is available cheap?
4) How much inductance is in a few turns?
5) What frequency(s) am I interested in?

It seems like the 65256 is the better one to pick then -- newest
datecode (at least in the photos), and I can actually find pinouts for it.
The 34310 C1s have apparently been scalped from old Thunderbolts and
carry 2002 datecodes.
The 49423 on sale is apparently 2005-dated, but I can't find a

Some of the broadcast oscilators for TV transmitters were pricey. The oscilator
manufacture wanted $980 to replace a bad unit. The transmitter manufacture
wanted $1800 for the same unit.

Bob,
It's always a good sign (being a time nut) to wonder if anything around you can
make a frequency standard.
I myself always wonder how close to UTC stop lights are synchronized in time,

Fellow time-nuts,
I have a FS700 sitting here, but no antenna. There should be other
signals than LORAN-C/CHAYKA available, such as DCF77, MSF60 and the 162
kHz signal from outside Paris. It would be pretty straight-forward to
put up a frame and make a number of turns of wire, and put a low-no

Also sent out dropbox links and indirectly it appears that works.
Would appreciate some more feedback please on how you may have obtained the

Hi All,
Was looking through my basement the other evening, and ran across an

information regarding this unit, or have used it in the past.

Email is getting really annoying. Gmail makes you do a dance to get it
active again. So here is my response a second time.
The system has a RB and a fine oven osc that is disciplined to the RB in
case the RB fails. The xtals pretty nice and even though an oven draws
quite low current when warm.

Thanks as I am experiencing a gmail issue with what it considers is spam.
Like you email I am absolutely unclear as to whats getting through. Many
others are experiencing the same behavior. Its AOL or something.
Thank you for letting me know it did make it through.
