1. I have just acquired an E1938 and powered it up. It seems to work. I
see that it has 4 blinking board LEDs (green, red, yellow, yellow) and a
pushbutton switch at the end of the board opposite to the DB25 connector.

Update: First, sorry for not posting adequate information in my question to
start with. The result of some emails was a clarification that it was not the
58503A which was causing the issue with the Com ports,
My new old HP58503A wants to connect to my PC on Com 1-4. Other PC devices are
already using those 4 Com ports.
Is there any way to connect it to a Com port other than one of those 1 to 4?
I currently use an Edgeport USB-to-Serial Converter which works very well to

I am having some difficulty setting up my HP53132A to make 1 PPS Time
Interval readings. I am outputting them to TimeLab via the counter's
talk-only output. TimeLab reads the counter fine and I am able to make
plots of 10MHz frequency comparisons. But I need a little help in properly
setting up
