I think that is because this message does not come out of their
backoffice systems, but rather out of their lo
They're legit, I think it's important to collect sales or gross receipts
tax on orders as normal, and see no reason why there should be an exemption
for Internet sales, nor any reason why we're discussing it on this mailing
list!

I also got one of these emails. It appears to be genuine, especially as two
different sources directed to by Drudgereport, are talking about a rush to pass
Internet tax regulation during this week without time for people to review the
proposal and the White House pushing the same point.
