Hi A lot depends on what your end use is and what you have to work with. There are Altera FPGA boards that have built in PLL’s that will accept a 5 MHz input. You can generate just about anything with them. 10 and 25 MHz (plus 1 pps) with multiple outputs of each would be pretty easy. Phase

A frequency doubler and a frequency quintupler will be needed. Options for the quintupler: 1) Convert to square wave and isolate the desired 25MHz output using filters. A bandpass filter is a poor choice if high phase stability is required. A high pass filter supplemented with series tuned

The comments are right on. The 8170 depended on the AM signal and a stable carrier phase. This is pretty much the same for all of the old spectracoms. That said you have to use an external box to fix the carrier. I built several different approaches and shared them on Time-nuts. If the archives

Hi An antenna is pretty much an antenna so it will still work on the “new” WWVB signal. The receiver portion of the setup will indeed have issues with the new signal. The rest of the setup would still work with an alternate approach to the receiver. Bob > On Sep 8, 2019, at 10:55 AM, bill

As I recall, as-is these units don't work with the new WWVB signal format. however, some enterprising person on this list has a mod for these units that a search of the archives will discover. -Eric On Sun, Sep 8, 2019 at 10:03 AM bill K7WXW wrote: > I have a stack of Spectracom 8170 WWVB

I have a stack of Spectracom 8170 WWVB synchronized clock boxes, along with the matching antenna and preamp and an RS232 distribution box. I found a little documentation for the antenna and preamp but little else. Wondering if anyone here has any ideas how I might re-purpose them.  They have
