Yo Bubba Dudes!, Several years ago I bought a GPSDO from Hong Kong. It didn't lock even afer running for 24+ hours. The seller agreed to replace it BUT shipping was quoted at $175.  So I was stumped.  Now later the USPO will send it for $35 but the seller may be long gone and shipping anything

I opted for buying the HT Basic software. It works great, just like you have an HP9836, etc. I bought the recommended NI GP-IB dongle. I've only run the 11848/3561 combo, although I also have an 11729 and an 8662. Certain routines like the built in verification test fail to run even with my

Hi Dave I posted the question as I am not up to speed with the latest solutions But I want the lowest phase noise that is easily possible so you might be correct as it is to lock up a 10 Ghz receiver but later for a 120 Ghz receiver Regards Paul -Original Message- From: time-nuts

Don, don't worry too much about soldering the 8-pin SOIC's. You've been soldering 0.05" pitch TO-92's for decades. And each 4-pin side of a SOIC is 0.05" pitch as well. Rather than use an adapter with perfboard, I'd advise going with dead-bug with all grounded SOIC pins going straight to copper

I looked at all of the details and a breakout board works. These are SOIC-8's so the pin spacing is 1/2 of a normal IC. Believe .05". But still solderable. The NB3N502 is just a bit cheaper then the others and at least a bit of application data is out there. Another approach would be dead bug

The BG7TBL design (that happens to be the designer's ham call sign) is also available on eBay in various versions.  I do have one. Seems to work.  The problem I have with it is that it only outputs NMEA from the GPS receiver.  There is no lock info from the serial port. David N1HAC On 9/10/19

I'd say that for the low price, the critical component (OCXO) can't be a very good one. It's too bad that the seller offers no real specifications (and that he/she doesn't write very good English). I'll be "listening" with interest. Dana On Tue, Sep 10, 2019 at 7:32 AM Adam Kumiszcza wrote:
