[toaster] Disaster Recovery

2005-05-12 Thread YM
Hi,

Have a few questions to consult Bill and experts out there.

1) If I were to move the queued (pending to send) emails from one server to
another. Where can I find them out?

2) For disaster recovery, what are the things to pay attention?

Yes, during the toaster install, /usr/lib/courier-imap/authdaemonrc is
edited to remove all but authvchkpw.

I had already changed that back, but I'm getting some errors in
/var/log/maillog:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# cat maillog

I have a feeling that something's gone horribly wrong :(

I don't think you can move a running queue. The file names are somehow
mapped to sectors on the disk. There's probably a more accurate
description of this, but this is what I recall offhand.

2) For disaster recovery, what are the things to pay attention?
This has been covered many times on the list. Please check the archives.

Yeah, you did not do what I suggested in my last email. Change the
authmodule list to include only the authpwd one. Then restart
authdaemon. You're not setup for any of those other modules.

Bill

But there's no such thing as authpwd.

In /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/authdaemonrc it says:

# The available modules you
# can use are: authcustom authcram authuserdb authvchkpw authldap

(which does not include authpwd).

If I add authpwd anyway, I get the following errors:

May 12 14:31:53 blue authdaemond.ldap: Unknown module 'authpwd' skipped
May 12 14:31:53 blue authdaemond.ldap: FAIL, all modules rejected
May 12 14:31:53 blue imapd: authdaemon: REJECT
May 12 14:31:58 blue imapd: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[:::195.166.37.20]

Strange, it is turned off for some reason. Try the PAM modules instead.

I was going to give it a whirl, but I didnt want to break the setup
that I have running now.

Its would be nice to be able show the management a number on the amount
of viruses that have been caught.
We all know how managment likes numbers. :-)
Hi,
I only released it 2 days ago but we've been running this back end in
production for a couple of month's now and running the actually database
and front end for a couple of years.

Jason,
Since you already got the priveledges , can you share them ? I currently
gave probably too much ...:
SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, INDEX, ALTER, CREATE TEMPORARY
TABLES

Thanks.

I needed to edit all of the php pages to reflect the directory I was
using for the require statement Added some quick debugging too so
I could figure out that I needed to grant rights to my mysql user.. Doh

Select and insert are all you need. select for the web user, and insert
for the server user. Or you can just make it one user with both of
those privileges...

Thanks.
