http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=34509 Summary: tag names that are xml:Name but not java identifier are not accepted Product: Tomcat 5 Version: 5.5.8 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: Jasper AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] According to the JSP 2.0 specification, custom tag prefix and name should be of the type XML:Name. However, for Tomcat 5.5.8, if the name is not a legal java identifier, then a compilation error occurs.
