Streaming content with mod_webapp

doesn't work. The second problem is, that with tomcat/http when the user closes his browser an exception ist thrown. This exception is never thrown with mod_webapp. So there's no way to find out, when the connection was closed and the streaming can be stopped. Is there a solution for that
